Domestic Violence Covid Response

Updated: Jan 9, 2021

In October we put together and delivered almost 200 comfort packs for children displaced by domestic violence. They went to Impact For Women, WAYSS and Family Life (Sandringham). Approx 300-400 packs for women were also supplied.

Our comfort packs included items such as filled pencil cases, lip balm, sketch/coloring books/diaries, UNO game cards, soft toys, craft activities, toothbrush, toothpaste and deodorant. Designed to supply basic necessities, comfort items & items to help relieve their stress loads.

Different packs for boys & girls in 3 age brackets to cater for different ages needs.

We raised funds for this initiative through the public from our network and also received in-kind donations from some wonderful organisations, including Gauntlets of Love, The Avenues and Officeworks Highett, Sewing for Charities Australia & Connect Health.

Thanks also to all our wonderful volunteers who helped pack these! We've included some photos below of some of the goods we put together.

In December 2020 we produced & deliverred 200 packs to Family Life for children fleeing domestic violence! Thanks to the elves at Family Life for helping us with the boxes. BCER's packs were delivered along with amazing food hampers to the families . Massive undertaking by Family Life! Special thanks to Beaumaris Rotary for the Xmas cards & Xmas treasures included in each pack.

In the same month we also delivered comfort packs for children fleeing domestic violence to WAYSS. This brought up our yearly comfort packs total to over 2,000!
