2nd Quarter Round Up 2024

Another busy 3 months with aid going out weekly & multiple volunteer sessions!

Multiple donations of essential food relief went to BayCISS, as did multiple deliveries of aid for the homeless that went to Avalon Centre. We also donated several loads of new clothes to Emerge for domestic violence survivors. 153 more pairs of prescription glasses were given to U3A Bentleigh plus another 44 mobile phones were sent on their way to DV Safe Phones via Fernwood in Mordialloc. A carload of items were given to The Good Vibe Society for people they are helping. SECASA received mothers day gift bags for the mothers of some of the children under their care and Taskforce were given more vital youth counselling packs.

We received amazing wildlife pitrches from the students at Homesglen transition education class, a variety of goods from a fabulous callout St Finbars made & a huge haul of items for the homeless that Sandringham Primary gathered. Kogo delivered large bags filled with knits that will go into our upcoming homeless packs, The Salvation Army also contributed a significant amount of goods for us to pass onto the homeless & Kedem Community delivery a bounty of toiletries they collected on your behalf. The Yarrabah School also did a collection for us at their market day.

A big thank you to Glen Eira Council who included us on their feature story on charities during National Volunteer week month. We are also made cover gals!

As aid requests have increased significantly, we have had to fundraise a little more this year & help a mothers day auction that covered costs of some of the above aid. We also ramped up our partnership in the Return IT recycling scheme & now have our own donation bin for recyclables. The People's First Lottery commenced where $2 gets you a chance to win one of dozens of prizes. This concludes late July & tickets can be purchased at: https://www.communitylottery.com.au/.../bayside-community...

We also launched our inaugural Xmas in July Fundraiser that only has 2 tables left. If you'd like to come along you can book at: https://www.trybooking.com/CRLOM

We won a federal grant thanks to the support of Zoe Daniel & also 2 small quick grants from both Bayside & Glen EIra councils.

At Glen Eira councils Volunteer awards, we were very grateful to receive joint runner up in the Community Group of the Year category. We also participated in Bayside Council's volunteer expo at Brighton Town Hall that was a big success.

Out in the wider community there are various individuals & groups knitting items for our massive homeless pack initiative that is coming up & we also added a new donation station at Brighton Library!

Thank you to all who pitched in to help us help others in need. It truly takes a village!
